2015 was an exciting year for the ScreenTag team! With the year coming to its end, we wish to share the highlights of the past 12 months and a glimpse of what’s coming in the next few months.
In February, we launched our first crowdfunding campaign with IndieGogo. As newbies in crowdfunding – and with limited resources and fan base – we didn’t expect to reach our funding target; and we didn’t. However, we managed to receive a few media mentions.
We continued development of our next version (v. 3.0) that was set to transform ScreenTag from yet another app to a platform for sharing contact details in a more visually appealing manner. The version launched at the end of June and started gaining new users. What was most exciting about the new vesion was that although it was designed for users in Western countries (since right-to-left languages are not supported), many of our new users are coming from countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel and Taiwan among other Eastern countries.
This year is leaving with ScreenTag being used in 50 countries, underlining our vision for a global contact exchange platform, with no limitations posed by operating system, phone screen resolution or other device capabilities.
Although we had plans to publicly launch all our editions this past year, we decided to leave this for the first quarter of the new year, as we have been testing several ordering process workflows in private beta so we can offer a smooth and clean-cut experience for our users both in our front and back end.
Based on our experience with our first crowdfunding campaign, we plan to run a second one prior to the launch of our other editions, aiming to support our marketing efforts, possibly offering more than just free subscriptions or set-up. At this stage, we are investigating crowdfunfunding platform options before we conclude about perks offered through the campaign, so stay tuned.
As the featured image of this post suggests, our #1 New Year’s Resolution is to make ScreenTag more awesome for our users than last year.
We wish you all, this coming year to stay healthy, be full of love, happiness and success!
Happy New Year!
